Sometimes our hurts flows out on others
from pains we bore in life
But didn't we know, that we can be healed
of all, the anger and strife

Although they have left, so many scars
bruised and damaged deep within
But, there is always a lesson to be learned
one is to fight, to bring it to an end

We can repeat, the cycle, in so many ways
by hurting others unaware
Shutting them off when they try to help
making them feel like they don't care

You can build a prison within yourself
by putting bars around your heart
Which stops anyone from entering in
and trying to do their part

Bitterness affects family and friends
and other surroundings in every day life
For when you lose control and lash out in anger
it cuts and wounds just like a knife

No it's not easy to release these things
nor is it easy to forgive
But the cycle must, soon be broken
in order for one to live

There is a victory, song for us
just ask God to take away the pain
For happiness depends on what you do
and his desire is for us to gain

And after it's all, said and done
burying the past and leave it all behind
Then you will wake up, to a new beginning
and tell life I claim what's mine
