When the Lord delivered my pent up heart
it was a day I'll never forget
I felt just like, a flower that bloomed
now I live with not one regret
My life was somewhat, like a dead end road
that had, no way to get out
Always stuck, in the same old rut
never knowing what, real life was all about
Every window, I feared to look through
and when I did, nothing was there
It was if the darkness was all around
and there was, no hope anywhere
But, when God, delivered me
I fight not to go that way anymore
and I took a hold of my life
and then closed, every miserable door
No more locks upon my heart
no more tears, at night to flow
And no more shadows in the dark
God has given my life a glow
Those days of hours spent in despair
the sleepless nights of pacing the floor
but no more closed shades, I welcome the sun
and inside I'm free for sure
I found it more easier, to first admit defeat
I don't mean this in a negative way
but, it's when you find you can't do it alone
Then the only solution was to pray
so God would give some needed answers
In how to get beyond the pain
and to loose every bondage that held me in
damping my days like pouring rain
But today my ship has clear sailing
no more weights to carry me down
For I unload and left those burdens behind
now I wear a smile, instead of a frown
I have been down, that road before
and I refuse to let it happpen again
No more days of sorrow, will I ever invite
my dead end road had came to an end
