Joseph
also went up
from Galilee,
from
the city
of
Nazareth,
to Judea,
to the city
of David.
[Luke 2:4]

Jesus and His
disciples are
sitting on a hill,
overlooking the
town of Nazareth.
They are talking,
quietly.
__________________
"Lord?
Will we go
BACK, there?"

[NOD.]
"Yes,
Peter."

"But...WHY,
LORD?"
(Peter grimmaces
with frustration.)
"They.. don't
WANT us,
THERE!"

[NODDING.]
[GAZING,
SORROWFULLY,
DOWN THE HILL.]

(Peter shakes
his head, sighing.)
"You were
born and RAISED
there, Lord...
and yet;
they don't
KNOW You."

[TURN TO
HIS TALKATIVE
DISCIPLE.]
[SMILE!]
[QUIET VOICE.]
"Only.....
I wasn't
born there,
Peter."

"You WEREN'T?"

(The other disciples
all become quiet,
and look up.)

[SMILING!]
"No....no!"
[LAUGHING!]
"I was born
near JERUSALEM:
in one of the
smaller TOWNS,
nearby."

(Curious squint.)
"WHERE,
Lord?"

[SMILE!]
"I was
born....
in BETHLEHEM."

(Peter frowns;
he plucks a piece
of green grass.)
"BETHLEHEM:
THAT....little TOWN?"
(He begins chewing
on the grassy shoot.)
What was Your
FAMILY.....
doing THERE?"

[SMILING!]
[LONG PAUSE.]
"Well,
My children;
It is a long
STORY."

while they were
there,
the time came
for her
to be delivered.
