In the darkness of my fears,
I was scared, alone, and tired.
Tired of going no where.
So I gave up and was destined
To get away with doing nothing.
That way, I wouldn’t worry.
I got the fear to succeed.

In the road of man’s choices,
I walked, ran, and laid by the edge.
The edge of passion and pride.
Gave leads to a happy life
But I gave it all away.
That way when I lost it all,
I had no reason to be down.

In the wake of the open sea,
I sailed, swam, and sunk.
Sunk to the bottom by my own disbelief.
I was anchored to the past
That kept me to myself.
That way, I never have to try again.
I made the mistake of not being me.

In the depths of my soul,
I dream, know and fear.
Fear that this world is not all there is.
I limited myself with lies
In a world that says there is no truth.
That way, I won’t have to admit
I need a Savior who can save me.
