“The Evangelist within”



Greetings in the Name of The Almighty”



“The Evangelist within”



Amongst all the beautiful stories from the Bible, one of my favorite story is in the Book of Acts. Chapter 16 and its start at verse 16. The story of Paul and Silas when they were in prison… Yes, in prison because they loved Jesus so much and they were never shy away to spread the good news. (and we should be doing the same, don’t you think? )



They had to bare pain and they were willingly put up with it while they were there. The Real Martyrs for Christ! So, while you looking up this particular passage from the Bible (if you wish so), listen and read the following as well….



….They have been beaten, their bodies were full of sores, wounds, and instead of showing anger or disappointments or doubt in their faith, they have just remained in their cell and kept singing to and for Jesus. Than a sudden earthquake happened, the cells became opened and their chains were fallen off. But Paul and Silas stayed in their cell didn’t run anywhere, no escape, no running away, nothing…just staying in their cell. The guard became so concerned / worried that he actually pulled out his own sword and he was ready to take his own life because of the shame of failing to guard the cells (?), or because of stress, or for whatever reason.



But the one particular cell had a person inside….yes…”The Evangelist within”….without going anywhere. Paul has stayed in the cell with Silas and also remained sharing the Good News with others because they were the “followers of the Way”. Sharing the good news with the guard whom suppose to be there to ensure that Paul and Silas remain captured and perhaps remained and kept in pain…

But this guard has become somebody else…he become free…and filled with the Holy Spirit…you may ask the question as to how the guard become “free”? Well, I recall a conversation with a dear friend of my whom once was a “political prisoner” of Robben island and his great mentor, Mr. Nelson Mandela has asked him the question once….”Tell me my friend, who is the actual prisoner of this island, the person who walks freely around in a specific area everyday or the person whom is being ordered to be in one place (a tower) and serve there 16 hours a day?”



So guess what…? The “Good News” will always set you free, you just need to meet with “The Evangelist within”…..called Jesus!
