How deep can you sink with no foundation to stand on. It only takes one lie to defile the truth. Turning what God meant to be a foundation into a snare, sinking sand. The big lie of "we're the only true ..." is what many false doctrines stake their claim to. Sure a little truth here and there.

Although he was speaking on a different subject matter, I recently heard a pastor say something that was equally applicable to how I feel about false doctrines. He stated that, "People are often majoring in minor details that really don't matter." That's exactly what false faiths do in the nutshell.

It has been my experience and is my belief that false doctrines exhalt coveteousness because there's nothing to hold on to in the long run. Looking for and creating faults in others to justify their predatory behavior. Defiled by the big lie of "we're the only".

As a member of one of these false doctrines, the greatest danger lies in being content. Realizing something is wrong, but no desire to seek the truth. Allowing life's distractions to keep you from thinking at all. God will still hold you accountable. He's given you a lifetime in which you've probably heard the truth and pushed it aside. Don't want to make waves. Don't want to rock the boat. Don't want to get talked about. So who are you trying to please man or God?

Don't find yourself at heaven's gates knocking only for God to say, "Depart from me, I never knew you." Make no mistake there is a lying thread that runs through the middle of false doctrines and there lies the danger. That one lie that defiles the truth causing a snare of entanglement instead of a foundation of hope, love and peace.

So examine your faith, its never too late to change your mind and seek the truth if you are unsure. All God wants you to do is "seek" with an earnest heart and He will reveal the truth to you.
