[WAVE HAND OVER

OF JUPITER.]
[PATIENTLY LISTENING
TO CRANKY CHILD EATING
A PIECE OF CHICKEN.]

"I don't UNDERSTAND?"
(Set a piece of chicken
down on the floor.)
(Watch cat sniff, and
and sniff, again.)
"AREN'T ALL of
us, JUST....HUMAN?"

[PATIENT SIGH.]
"Oy vey."

(Shout with greater
impatience, and crankiness.)
"THEN, WHO DID
WE BELONG TO,
FIRST?"

[PATIENT VOICE.]
"Go to bed,
child."

(Set plate down on
the floor.)
(Watch more sniffing.)
(Shout.)
"I HAVEN'T BRUSHED
MY TEETH, YET!"

[PATIENT SIGH.]
"Then,
go brush your teeth."

(Squint up at ceiling.)
"Can I have
BLUE EYES, LORD?"
(Hopeful squint.)
"I mean....since,
I'm gettin' ADOPTED,
AND ALL?"

[FIRM VOICE.]
"No.
Go to bed."

(Sip some kiwi-and
strawberry-flavored
water.)
(Purse lips.)
(Get up and open fridge.)
(Search, impatiently,
for another bottle
of root beer.)
"SO....
WHY did Paul write
all this STUFF, ANYWAY?
Was he MESHU'GAH'NAH*?"

[CHUCKLE.]
"Yes,
My beloved.

Me."
