The Common Error.

Pastor X at 2 o clock and today he'll be preaching about suffering as a true Child of God. Pastor X starts by giving an example which is by no doubt influenced by Human reasoning and I quote” prince Harry can never suffer because he's the son of the King. The same applies to Christians, we are sons and daughters of the King of the entire Universe, and so suffering is out of the scenario.” News flash! Wrong again Pastor X!!

The truth according to the word of God.

From Genesis to Revelations, God has not promised an easy life for his people. Matthew 5:10"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.” Well there you have it folks, in this world you will suffer. Why? Because of being a Christian, a true Christian. Cain killed Abel for being righteous. Evidence? (1 John 3:12). The Lord Jesus Christ reminded his disciples over and over again that in this world you will have trouble. (John 16:33). He also told them of how he himself was persecuted. Persecutions will come for you so don’t bother looking for them. Please note that am not talking about suffering for doing wrong but for doing the will of God.

Why don’t you suffer?
Two reasons.
• It could be that you’re not saved.
• It could be that you're a Christian who compromises the gospel.

The Bible says that the world loves it’s own. Furthermore, suffering is a package of true Christian calling. (2 Timothy3:12)
Secondly you might be a Christian who hides his Christianity and therefore the world will not persecute you for doing what is right according to its standards. You dare compromise the gospel?! REPENT!!!!

Why should you rejoice in suffering?

Romans 8:18 says, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
On the Day of Judgment, God will reward each one according to what they did while on Earth. So God will reward you for being persecuted for doing good.
So in conclusion this is what the Bible says. In this world you will suffer!!! If of course you are a Christian.
