10/25/09 Pastor Alex sermon: Seven Mountains: The Religious Mountain Luke 10:25-37, Matt 21

The Religious Mountain is the biggest mountain that keeps people from God. Counterfeit religions keep people from God by saying Jesus is not the only way to God. Luke 10:25 It seems like it’s the religious leaders who cause so much of the issues. vs. 33 It was the Samaritan that took care of the victim on the side of the road. It was the religious leaders who passed him by. Religion kills our relationship with God cause it messes with the way we respond to God.

Matt 21 Jesus was always in the face of the religious leaders cause they missed the point, the issue, the heart of God on the issues. The Law doesn’t give us the heart of God. Religion is just a set of rules that make issues and religious problem. Denominations cause issues and religious problems. Jesus Christ changes our lives! Not church denominations or religious rules.

“Religious” spirits make us think we could never be another Billy Graham or Mother Teresa type of Christian leader. We can ALL….
Do ALL things thru Christ that strengthens us! Are we sheep or goats? Sheep have a relationship with God and Goats don’t! We have to realize that God has something for all of us to do. The Holy Ghost used “uneducated” Peter to preach the gospel. So, we can be used too.

We need to get rid of our insecurity about being a person of God that God wants us to be. We need to ask ourselves “what is keeping us from being known as a child of God”?? We must say every morning…” God, good morning. What can I do for you today?” God will then start sending us opportunities to tell folk about Jesus.
Fear not! God can use us!
