The poem is not love
not the song or the singer
neither one is love
love is not the red flower in the hand of a suitor
Love is not the words spoken
the kiss or the embrace.
There is no love in the harp
love is not the note, the gift, or the dance...
When, through the darkness and rain
when silence was broken only by weeping,
I saw a man on the side of the hill nailed to my cross.
then on that day I knew of no other love
The song is not love
but only an expression.
And never do we find
nor should we find end
to our expressions of this,
the only love which never resolves.
God is love. There is no other.
