Immediately
Jesus made
His disciples
get into the boat...
He went up on
the mountain
by Himself
to pray.
Now when evening
came,
He was alone
there.
[Matthew 14:22-23]

"They said, in class tonight,
that Jesus was up on the
mountain praying.....
for NINE HOURS!"

[SILENCE.]

"I have trouble praying,
for nine MINUTES!"

[BURST OUT LAUGHING!]
"Some pray,
for a whole lifetime,
child."

"NOBODY can pray,
for that LONG!"
No WAY!"

[SOLEMN NOD.]

"That's not HUMAN!
How much can ya
SAY?"

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"I either end up...
KVETCHING,
or
falling ASLEEP!"

[PATIENT SIGH.]

"Everything I ask for....
it's always
'NO',
ANYWAY!"

[PATIENT GAZE
AT QUARRELSOME
CHILD.]

"Why didn't
JESUS,
go out to the
WATER,
SOONER?"

[SILENCE.]

"The WEATHER
was BAD!
WHY didn't
He go out,
to SEE how
they were DOIN'?"

[SILENCE.]

"WHY did
He wait,
till the
fourth WATCH?"
(Laugh!)
"That makes me
sound really SEA WORTHY,
doesn't it,
LORD?"

[CHUCKLE.]

"Considering....
I throw-up,
just LOOKING,
at a BOAT."

[CALM NOD.]

"I still don't understand,
what TOOK
Jesus,
so LONG?
Didn't He know
His friends,
were in
PERIL?"

"What peril,
child?
They
were in
My Sight,
the whole time."

Now in the
fourth watch
of the night
Jesus went to them,
walking
on
the sea.
[Matthew 14:25]
