Healthy Living
We follow the same routine everyday. Wake up, have breakfast, rush to work, have lunch, rush back home, have dinner, go back to sleep. Although there are variations in the routine of every individual in this regard, this is the general process everyone passes through. Just stop and think. Are we humans or are we some kind of a mechanical, clockwork toy programmed to follow these activities? In the process we; consciously or unconsciously, tend to accumulate tensions, stress and a plethora of other mental disturbances that tend to affect both our personal as well as professional lives. Is there a way out of this? Well, yes. But only if you apply yourself to it and have the will power to do so. The foremost remedy or "mantra" to get out of this cycle is to stop intermingling your personal and professional lives. The boss may have had a bad to start to his morning at home. He carries his bad mood to the office and lets himself loose on his subordinates. This affects the subordinates, who inturn carry these feelings home. This creates a vicious cycle resulting in tensions on both the personal as well as professional front. Thus the paramount step towards achieving transcendental happiness begins at home and at work.
More on the individual front, equanimity and poise in the most averse of situations ensures perennial happiness. Problems and solutions come in a package. Wherever there is a problem a solution is inevitably present. However even though a solution is present, a person may not see it if he does not think rationally and to think rationally he has to maintain calm. A panic-stricken person will compound to his already existing problems rather than finding a solution for it.
The third method is to stay away from attachments to the physical world. Although this may sound too philosophical, it is true when practically experienced. Often the object that we like, desire or have an urge to possess, sows the seeds of sorrow. Everything that is born has to die and everything that is made does get destroyed. The realisation of this fact eliminates us from the cycle of sorrow and happiness. However this does not mean that we must be apathetic towards the situations around us. It only means that we must not let such attachments become an impediment in leading our normal, happy lives.
It is such simple methods that help us achieve "transcendental" or superior happiness. Remember, take away the sorrow from your life and what you are left with is just happiness.
