I sit here, it's morning
It's January 23, 2004
and I think, what to say...

What to say, to a world that knows infinite love
but denies it
What to say to people who refuse to smile
because they are buried in their own circumstance
not knowing those who are merely seconds away
hold a pain far greater than theirs

What to say to relatives who tolerate one another
Because of words, deeds, and circumstance
when love is always easier
what to say to co-workers
who silently deal with a ray of light
that never seems to shine on them

What to say to a host of people spared their lives not yet three years before
when two mighty towers fell
What to say to those who have more allegiance
to football games and sporting events
than to our God who loves in spite of and continually

What to say to those of them who have no hope because their lives have been completely stricken in despair, either by their hand, or another's
if only they knew their strength can be obtained through Encouragement
which they can't seem to find,
For those who are down are looked upon through the most judgemental eyes

What to say to people who actually believe their purpose is to move the threshold of their company ahead

What to say to people who actually believe that all that paper actually means something, the paper of contracts, finance, forms, applications, and files...

What to say to people who have lost sight of what it truly means to be hungry
Going home to full refrigerators and cabinets, holding on to twenty's and ten's while someone in their eyesight begs for food...food to have energy, to have desire, to empower

What to say to people who are not affected by the pain of what they see, who turn their head as easily as they do a page in a book...what to say...what to say.....

What to say to myself as I see kindness removed, as I see compassion thrown away, what to say...

Then God says...

Speak.

Speak to those who know they are called, speak to those who are encouraged to do that what is right and finally speak to those who have not spoken at all. Simply speak.
