My daughter, who turns 5 this month spent last week at a soccer camp. But this wasn`t your ordinary kick the ball and learn to score camp, this was a camp circled around Jesus. Mornings were spent learning about Jesus and games, then before it was over, they would play a game of soccer, and learn basic soccer skills. She loved it.

My family and I just recently started going back to church after a long time. She has only learned about Jesus through the short time she was at Sunday School at our church. But, now that it`s summer, and since most Sundays my husband works, I have decided not to attend because, let`s face it, trying to make two children under 5 sit through a whole sermon would take more than a miracle.

So, during the week of soccer, all the children had to memorize Romans 10:9 and be able to recite it for a leader. So one night after dinner, we start at it. After about 10 minutes of reading the KJV, I switch to my NIV, just so it was easier for her to understand and remember. An hour later, she had is down; with only a few missing words. She was so proud of herself. I made her say it the rest of the night sporadically, and the next morning. I was so proud of her. That day, when I pick her up from the camp, she says to me, `Mom, I want to go to Heaven.` I wanted to laugh, or cry, but I settled for giving her a hug and telling her that one day we all will. She now knows who Jesus is, and what he did, and why. I`m so proud of her and I can just see the eagerness in her eyes. Tonight, she ran around the house yelling the verse and I couldn`t help but feel some sort of propriatory pride over her. It`s me she will continue to learn and grow from. It`s me who will teach her the values of leading a Christian life and loving God as much as I do. It`s me that will continue to instil those morals and values and it terrifies me and thrills me at the same time. I don`t know if I am doing it right, or wrong, but God will help me along the way and point me in the right direction. I can only start the seed in my children, and I`ll do that to the best of my ability. I`m not wealthy, and I don`t have a trust fund with millions of dollars set aside for them for when I return home, but I will leave them with what I know, and they will know that I loved them with all my heart.
