Summer is the time of year when we start to see the results of our efforts with the vegetable garden. After two months of watering, fertilizing and spraying, we get to enjoy fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, and bell peppers. There’s nothing better than fresh vegetables in the summer, especially when you’ve put in the time and effort to grow them yourself.

Reaping and sowing aren’t just gardening concepts. They’re true of our souls as well. If you act with honesty and integrity and show kindness and good humor, you will have an abundant life. If you’re dishonest and cruel, you’ll suffer every day you live.

Galatians 6:7 tells us “whatsoever a man sows, so exactly shall he reap.” This is not a threat, but a guide to how we should conduct our lives. Accepting Christ doesn’t just give us salvation; it gives us a blueprint for how we should conduct our lives on earth.

Living by Christ’s principals will give you a simplicity and peace that nothing else on earth can. No matter how busy you may be, you’ll always have a stability of spirit that will see you through anything life brings.
