Love is a glove that warms your hand
On a cold and wint'ry night.
Love is a hand that holds you up
When things aren't goin' just right.

Love is a word; an encouraging word
That tells you ,"You can make it"
Love is the heart that says a prayer
When you think you just can't take it.

Love is the music sung in the soul
That knows the joy of forgiving.
Love is the peace only God can give.
When you're the one that's forgiven.

But it's not the music or the songs you sing;
Nor even a kiss or two.
It's not what you say or how you may feel.
Love is something you do.

It's walking a mile when the going is tough,
Regardless how much it may hurt.
It's putting aside what you want for yourself.
It's putting the "other guy " first.
