In the New York state a farm boy
Knelt in a quiet forest glade.
To the Father he humbly prayed,
But darkness overcame, bringing strife;
Satan tried to destroy his life.
A light rested upon his head
To the pit, the Evil One fled,
As a vision brought the lad joy.
The Father and Son from Heaven came
And brought to Joseph precious truth
While he was yet a boy, a youth.
Joseph learned none of the sects were right
That the world was in spiritual night.
He'd bring the gospel back to man
When empowered by the God of Heaven.
The Vision closed, Joseph never was the same.
