Today was a lull in Jerusalem's agony and Asher took the time to interview civilians. One could never know what might prove useful.
One French inhabitant said, "No I know nothing which you would be interested in. I'm just trying to survive. Strange isn't it? I flee all the way here to get away from war and it comes following after me.
Asher noted, "Well you seem strangely well-fed."
The Frenchmen said, "Do I indeed? Well that is funny. Your folk just came to rifle my house and left my food supply alone. The Jordanians came a week earlier for the same purpose and they left my food alone.
"Why is that?", Asher wondered.The Frenchman smiled, "I started laying up supplies weeks earlier. I carefully picked the food for just this circumstance.""Which is?", Asher wondered.
The reply came, "A large supply of pork."
