Poetry
Do you like my face?
Do you like what you see?
I know a lot of time has passed
And years have weathered this pretty face
But it’s still me
It’s still me
Can’t you see?
That same little girl
With the innocent smile
Hoping
Dreaming
Counting the stars
Wishing upon the first one
She sees
It’s me
Do you like my face?
Do you like what you see?
Underneath it all
It’s still me
Underneath it all
I’m still painting rainbows
And coloring pictures
Of ponies
And rose colored houses
Can you see?
Can you see past my
Weathered skin?
Do I still look beautiful to you?
Or have I withered like the pages
Of an old forgotten book.
Do you like my face?
Do you like what you see?
Are you looking closely?
Or have you forgotten all about me?
Do you like my face?
Do you like what you see?
Look a little closer
Can you see
The face of your maker
Staring back at you?
Can you see the face of Jesus
As you look into my eyes?
Do you you like my face?
What do you see?
