Poetry
The Potter's house used to be
a mere lump of clay
til one day the Potter said
"I shall transform thee today"
So He took this simple mass
formed it with His hands
made it into a pot
now, it was able to stand.
He looked and thought that it was good
but He wasn't finished yet
He placed the pot in the fire
so it would become strong and set.
The fire made the vessel to sweat
and wonder why this was so
"How could the Potter put me here
can't He just let me go?"
Next when the fire cooled
the potter started to glaze
so the pot would shine like new
it took away the haze.
He once again placed the pot
into the searing fire
"Let me out!" the pot would shout
for this was his desire.
Finally, the pot was burned
and when he was freed
He looked at himself in the mirror
and could not believe!
There before Him was a pot
where once there was only clay
He had been through lots of pain
but what a price to pay!
The Potter painted with a brush
added colours bright
and when He had finished
with this task
Oh, what a glorious sight!
This earthen vessel now was fit
to satisfy a king
Oh how beautiful, and strong
what glory he would bring!
The Potter had just one more task
in this great design.
He looked at the pot
gave him a heart
and forever lived inside.
