The only difference between junk and junque is the price.
There comes a time in life when you have to start getting rid of things.
Someone has said, “You need to move every ten years just to clean
out the junk.” Some of you are overdue -- you haven’t moved in
decades, and the junk just keeps collecting.
We are at that point where we are getting rid of things. Just today I
got rid of something that was painful for me. I got rid of my nice golf
clubs and cart. It took me over six years to make that decision, but I
haven’t been able to play golf since my stroke, although I’ve tried.
Some may be at a place in life where we need to get rid of personal
junk, like bad habits, bad attitudes, bad life-style decisions, etc. We
have developed a callous on our attitude toward God and His
expectations on our lives. We are no longer sensitive to God’s
proddings. This is an old saying, but “If you aren’t as close to God as
you used to be, who moved away -- you or God?”
Remember that 1 John 1:9 (nlt) was written to Christians, “But if we
confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to
cleanse us from every wrong.” That’s the starting point to find your
way back -- confession.
