These are some of the most wonderful words I have ever heard in my life. I hope you feel the same way as you read them. Think carefully about what you are reading, for you will discover as you read just how important and loved YOU are!
"You are My Friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you." (John 15:14-16, NKJV)
Jesus calls us friends, not servants. He shares His knowledge with us as friends, talks to us just like we talk with our other friends. We might like to think that following Him is a choice we've been given, and it is. But we have been chosen by Him first. What we do with that is left up to us. He wants to give us good things, but I have found that, while there's a lot of material things I'd like to have, all of a sudden those things just don't seem so important--they just don't matter anymore in the Light of the Son. The main things I seek are peace within, and a calmness deep down inside, and He is providing those for me. The world may be nuts, but I am feeling remarkably sane!
Have you been seeking, searching, or exploring lately? Trying to find something out? Maybe you're just feeling compelled of late to read the Bible, or go to church, or you have begun listening a bit more intently when you hear your Christian friends discussing things of faith. Maybe now, instead of using the remote to skip past that inspirational program on television, you suddenly find yourself turning the volume up instead.
This, dear friend, is a call that you are being led to answer. This is Jesus himself calling your name and waiting for your response. He has
chosen YOU. What will you do?
Only you can answer that. I hope you will make a frantic dash to answer your call. Jesus isn't pushy. He's very patient and He will wait for you if you need to think it over. But time waits for no man, and you don't know if you really have the time to drag your feet on this one. This one decides your fate forevermore.
