Poetry
Her heart is pounding,
Her little tummy in knots,
Sitting in her room her door firmly locked.
She hears shouting and screaming,
From down the hall,
She tries not to hear the things that they call.
She daren’t leave her room,
Then they’d know she can hear,
Closing her eyes a little tighter,
Her life gripped with fear.
She starts to sing herself a little song,
Trying to block out the noise,
But tonight it’s going on for so long.
She gets on her knees and begins to pray,
Tears rolling down her red little cheeks,
She opens her heart and begins to speak.
Dear God, I’ve heard people say you exist,
Though I’ve never been told what you really do,
I’m hoping you can help me,
You see,
My world has fallen and I can’t see a way through.
Mummy and daddy wasn’t always this way,
They used to love each other,
They used to laugh almost everyday.
God, it’s not like that anymore,
Mummy is always crying,
Daddy doesn’t seem care,
I’m angry Lord,
It’s just not fair.
So come on if your really there,
I need your help,
I need you to care.
As she is kneeling,
Her tears dropping to the floor,
Her heart starts to thump,
But not like before,
She not so afraid anymore.
Then she hears a quiet voice within,
My dearest child,
I’ve been watching you for so long,
From the moment you were born,
Right up until you were just singing that little song.
Though times are hard,
I Love you, I always have and always will,
Even When your to busy to talk to me,
Or when your alone and still.
Think of it as the seasons,
Soon they pass,
And my darling child the trials of your little life,
They won’t last.
Put your trust always in me,
And I’ll pull you through,
And one day you’ll be with me in eternity.
I sent my son down to die for the worlds sins,
It breaks my heart to see,
That for some it was in vain,
And your heavenly father,
Wept that day to see him in so much pain.
But he would have done it
Even if you were the only one,
Because he conquered Hades and he won.
Let me introduce to you my Son,
Who did this for you,
His name is Jesus,
Trust in his name with all you do.
Give your life and heart to him,
It’s decision you’ll never regret,
And my precious child he’ll always love you,
That you must never forget.
Still on her knees,
Tears falling from her face,
She gave her life and heart to Jesus,
And accepted His undeniable Grace.
