Making it Right
Hey! You ever notice how there are some preachers who are low key and laid back and then there are some who are just on fire and can preach for hours upon hours? Me too. I have always wondered why that is until one day I heard the story of this one preacher the Lord sent to the earth. It really changed my whole way of thinking about why people do the things they do.
Well, the story goes like this. One day in Heaven the Lord was playing with this little kid. He was a rambunctious little fellow. He would run and hop all over the place. Even when the Lord was having important meetings with the angels he would run right up to Him and jump in His lap. Every time, the Lord would keep right on talking and acted as if he was supposed to be there. Anyhow, back to the story. The Lord was playing with him and the two of them were just laughing together. The little boy jumped up into the Lord’s arms and the Lord swung Him around allowing the little boy to feel as if he was flying. The Lord put him up on His shoulders and began to run along side of one of the rivers in Heaven. The boy was bouncing up and down when the Lord stopped and took him down and sat him on His knee.
“Come here, son I want to show you something,” the Lord said as He handed the little one a fishing rod.
“What’s this?” inquired the little boy.
“It’s called a fishing rod. Here let me help you with that.” The Lord wrapped His hand around His little friend’s hand and pulled way back and then quickly tossed the line of the fishing rod out into the river. The little boy popped up. For no soon as the hook hit the water a fish leaped on it and almost pulled him in. The Father gently embraced him and sat him back down on His knee. The little boy did not like the fish. It was slimy and flopped all over the place.
“Father?” he asked “ Why is it moving so much?”
“Well, we just took him out of his environment. There are only a few fish that you catch that will come calmly. You will find that most fish are hard to hold and will flop around on you and some will even slip out of your hands back into their habitat.”
“What do you do when that happens?”
“You just keep fishing, son. Come on let’s try it again. Are you ready?”
“Yeah!” yelped the friend of God. And they sat there on the bank of the river and fished for quite a while. And caught every type of fish you could imagine. And just like the Lord said, most fish gave them a fight, some came easily, and some slipped away. But they just kept fishing.
“Okay, son it’s time for me to go to the Formation room to check inventory of souls.”
“Oh, boy! Can I come this time Father?”
“Sure, son.”
“I like spending time with You. You get me into all the fun places in Heaven.”
The Lord just smiled and took His small companion’s hand and walked him to the doors of the Formation room. He opened the doors and they walked in. The atmosphere of worship filled the room. The Father picked up a clip board and began to run down the list making sure all souls had adequate amounts of grace, and mercy and to be sure all gifts had been given to the appropriate ones. As the Lord was about His business the little one strolled around the room until he noticed something a bit strange to him. Every time the Lord would finish checking that each soul had all it needed, it would disappear. Now this made the boy awfully curious, so he inquired of the Father what was going on.
“Where are they going Lord?”
“To earth,” He whispered
“Oh. Why?” He whispered back
“To bring me Glory.”
“Oohhh. Why are we whispering?”
“This is the Formation room. We must be careful of what we speak because they will remember it and it will reflect in there life. There are specific things that I want each of them to do. I am there creator and I want to be able to call them sons and daughters. Alright, now child of mine, let’s go see what my Only Begotten is up to.”
The little child looked up to the Lord with the greatest amount of excitement. He knew exactly who the Father was speaking of. Jesus. It was all he could do not to yell for joy. He clasped his fingers over his mouth to keep himself from saying anything wrong.
The Lord smiling, facing the door with His back to His friend said, “Go ahead, it’s okay.”
So, the little boy jumped up and began to dance and said, “YEAH! I’m going to see Jesus! Let’s go!” Running as hard as he could he leaped up into the Father’s arms once again and they were off to the Sanctuary.
The little guy didn’t understand why, but every time he heard the name Jesus he was over whelmed with uncontrollable joy. As they walked out of the Formation Room they could hear the praise of saints and above all they could hear the thundering voice of Jesus preaching to the masses. It echoed throughout the Kingdom. So much so that it tickled the little guy’s chest.
As they closed in on the Sanctuary the Father put him down and he ran over and actually hopped up on and sat upon the Pulpit. Jesus filled with excitement, paced the Pulpit back and forth and declared, “It won’t be long! I’m going back! There is hope in Glory!...”
“Yeah!” the little one screamed at the top of his lungs. It was too late. He just couldn’t take it anymore. He finally hopped up on Pulpit with Jesus and tried his best to keep up with Him. Jumping up and down, running back and forth, across the Pulpit shouting, “Yeah! Preach, Jesus, preach!” And preach He did for days, but it only seemed like minutes. After He had stopped He looked down at His tag partner and picked him up and said, “Thanks for the help.”
“Why Your welcome.”
Jesus just laughed.
“Hey Jesus?”
Jesus turn towards him and smiled.
“You really love those people down there, huh? I mean, being that you died for them and all.”
“Yes I do. I love them all very much.” Jesus took a deep breath and replied, “ I miss them too.”
The little boy could see the desperation in Jesus’ eyes.
“I got a great idea! Why don’t you just go back now and bring them home.”
“I could but if I stepped down on earth now too many of them would die. That’s why I am waiting for them.”
“Yeah, I remember. You told me before. They have to accept You as Lord first, right?”
“That is true but those are not the ones I am waiting on. It is those who have already accepted Me. I have given them the instructions on what to do once they give their life to Me but they don’t always follow through. There are many excuses for why. Some believe they need schooling first, others believe I just simply wouldn’t use them for My Glory. They got it all wrong. That brings me to tell you why Our Father brought you here to see Me. I need to ask you a question.”
The little boy looked anxiously into His master’s piercing eyes wondering what the question could possibly be.
“Do you love me, child”
“Oh, of course I do, Jesus. You know that.” He bellowed with pride
“Then go for Me. Go tell them about Me. Let them know that I’m real and let them know I have not left them, let them know I am coming back and they must be ready.”
The little ones’ heart was beating very fast. He was stunned. He knew that Jesus would never joke about His people. Why, God Himself had given them to Him. But to think that He would ask him to send them a message. Seeing the love in Jesus’ face, he jumped up and said, “Sure! I’ll go!”
Jesus took the little boy in His arms and hugged him tight. The little boy cried. He always did when Jesus hugged him, but there was something different about this hug. He felt waves fluttering throughout his body. So much so he began to get weak.
“Jesus, what’s happening?” he questioned
“I’m giving you everything you will need to make it in the earth. Grace, Mercy, Love, Faith, Anointing, Integrity, everything.” Jesus picked him up and carried him into the Formation Room where God had been waiting.
The atmosphere of worship quickened his spirit and the little boy was again wide awake. He had never been in the Formation Room with both of them at once. He looked at both of Them as he stood before Them.
“I’ll remember You Guys down there right?” he said nervously
“It is Our good pleasure,” They said at once.
The little one turned and saw all the souls disappearing and Jesus ushered him in line. He looked up at Jesus one last time and said, “I’ll make it right for you.” He turn back around, held his head high and instead of waiting for the conveyor belt he was riding on to birth him into time, he of course ran and jumped in, yelling towards Heaven, “I’ll be right back!”
Jesus took a deep breath and turn to the Father. The Father put His right hand on Jesus’ shoulder and said, “Brian will bring them home, Son…. I taught him how to fish.”
