Poetry
A flash of light.
A thunderous cry.
Ripping through the clouds
as they pass by.
The downpour of rain
and hail belie
the ruthless torrents
of water rushing by.
The river banks
that once held it’s flow
now rages on it’s own.
The farmland and homes
the city streets and stores
all become the victim
of the storms crushing blows.
At last a rainbow
God’s promise to the world
that everything will be
as before.
