Marriage
I used to ask this question, but now I don’t. When I married my husband, we were two very different people than we are now.
We were not filled with Christ or following His ways.
So for some of you, you did things the right way. You loved God, then asked for God’s will in your marriage.
For others of us, we didn’t. But I know that God knew the heart and mind I would have now and He made sure I would be with who He needed me to be with.
If I had to do it all over again, I would marry the same man, but I would have waited.
I would have established my Love for God and His Son and waited patiently for my husband to do the same, before we got married. I now know the power of God in my life and in my husband’s life and it would have saved us both from so much heartache that we have suffered, by doing things our own way, instead of His way.
So, if I were to give young men and women advice, I would say this:
Find God and His Son Jesus first. Establish your Love for God and your devotion to Him.
Don’t date. Dating only gives pieces of your heart away to the wrong people. You can never be sure who you will end up marrying and you will never get those missing pieces of your heart back. Those pieces should be your gift to your future spouse.
Kissing tends to lead to fleshly desires, that you are not ready for. You may get yourself into an adulterous affair with someone else’s future spouse, while someone else may be getting into an adulterous affair with your future spouse.
Spend time with each other in groups with your friends. Other times, spend time together as friends, only. You can only love someone that you know well, not someone that you want them to be or someone that they are pretending to be.
When you get married, your husband should already be a close and personal friend.
When you think you are ready, ask God for His guidance and blessing.
