Surprised
Why, at faith’s success, are we surprised
is it because we believe the enemy’s lies
those viciously cruel whispers in our ear
What is it that the enemy wants us to hear
Is it the spirit of doubts that resonate
causing faithful believers to hesitate
When we succumb to these lies told
We are prevented from being bold
Therefore cling to the Word of God Above
be confident in the power of His love
From the tomb, Our Savior did rise
Through Him, there should be no surprise.
People of faith should not be surprised when the manifestation of that faith arrives. I'm, as ever, guilty of doing just that. I will pray, meditate, and now fast for situations and causes, then be surprised when God answers the prayer. That surprise smacks with the flavor of doubt and I am praying against that doubt in me. In the big things and the little things, we must be ever faithful, for through Christ, who stregthens us, we can do all things.
If with only a "mustard seed of faith" we can cast mountains into the sea, how effective is it with a mustard seed of doubt? Just something to ponder.
Our Father,
I pray that you increase are faith and decrease our doubt. If there is doubt in our hearts then cast it out and fill us with a measure of faith that will allow us to glorify You. May we faithfully serve You to our fullest. In Jesus' Mighty Name, I pray. Amen
God bless and guide all of you.
In Christ's love,
Christian

I was just asking a Christian friend of mine if there's anyone in this world who never doubt in their faith at all, after she emailed me some Scripture verses to meditate upon, one of which was from James Chapter 1. Then I came across your article that's related to doubt vs. faith. I can say that it's a blessing that I read your very insightful article that is very relevant to my question. May God bless you with more wisdom and insights. Thank you.
You're right-so often we are suprised with answered prayers. I think of when Paul escaped from prison and the people praying for him didn't believe Rhoda that he was at the door. But I also think that maybe we shouldn't lose the feeling of surprise altogether...after all, our God works in mysterious ways, and I am often surprised at the WAY in which He answers my prayers. :)
