If knowledge was taught in deep ancient language,
And wisdom was stored in sacred disk,
Then buried in the belly of the mighty fish,
That swallowed prophet Jonah,
I would have rested my case.
If the modern scholars,
Who dared the dangerous hunt,
Beneath the ocean of Nineveh,
To retrieve it
Are labeled as academic failures,
Or some bunch of adventurers,
I would have long stepped aside from learning.
Ironically, the principle to greatness,
Are painted in simple language,
But my people are reluctant to
Embrace both virtues,
Instead they claimed we are a
Targeted market,
For the economic
Magicians from the west.
So we keep showing off,
With their foreign ideas,
Posing on flat stomach,
While they build solid communities
in their country home,
All from the proceeds and
Huge profit made from us.
Primarily tagged as
Consumer people or rather nations,
Whose evil leaders function totally
On greed and craving for
Political powers.
I am troubled! I’m eager to know!
Are we Africans advancing,
Backwards or Forward?
