Marriage
I was thinking this morning of the new craft I'm going to try, a brand new thing with which to play; a way to make something more out of the least of things, it’s called precious metal clay.
They have found a way to reclaim tiny amounts of silver from other things, and mixed it up with other natural ingredients, material to which it will cling.
You can roll it or form it, like any other clay, letting each creation rest and dry, but the amazing thing happens when its put in a kiln, and the temperature is raised so high.
All the binders burn away, the 'clay' part is all gone, and when it cools you will
see only silver in its purest form, the best that it could ever be.
It still won't look like much for it still needs to be polished, the fire-scale cleaned til each piece shines so bright, then it will look like you've reached to the skies and captured a bit of moonlight.
It made me thing of how I was in the days before I met you; a lump of clay with no particular form, for each day I would try something new.
I thought that I could make it on my own, on my efforts I would rise or fall, and after so much time of starting over and over again, I looked back and knew I'd lost it all.
That was when I knew I was lost, and cried out 'someone help me' - and the One who heard was right there by my side, He took my burdens away and set me free.
For He had a plan, knew just what to do to take the clay I was then, and make it new with His grace and forgiveness, a brand new and beautiful blend.
Now I knew He'd be with me through trials and fire, burning away all that was not of Him, and polishing up the pure silver I'd become, glowing with His love within.
The plans that He had for my life were amazing, He made so many wishes come true, but the most wondrous day of all was the one He brought us together - the day that I first met you.
All the things that came before had been just a preparation, to get me ready to start a new life, and when I met you and fell in love, I knew I was meant to
be your wife.
Now we're together, each day a blessing, for the love shared is ever new,
and this gift I bring, along with my heart, and give it all to you.

Ah! Just what I needed this morning... assurance. I kept thinking that this stage I've been going through is like fighting my way through thickets. But that's not it at all. I've been through the kiln. :::smile::: And if that wasn't tough enough, (though I wasn't alone... for like Shad., Mesh., and Abed., He was there with me) the cleansing has been a long, long, slow, tedious process. I'm so glad God's patience is greater than mine. Perhaps He'll have this vessel in shining enough condition soon to place me in someone's hands who will take good care of it. I pray so.
