I tucked in the most amazing gifts God has allowed me tonight. We read a chapter from C.S. Lewis, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." My oldest two are boys, seven and eight years old. They are captured by the suspenseful words of Lewis and are always dissapointed when I stop after only one chapter. I follow with a chapter from Psalms. Surprisingly, they are equally excited to hear David talk about how God is so good. They are captured by his words as well and usually ask for another chapter. Now I get kids, I know they would rather read than go to bed. But they are captive and they are getting it. They are listening to every word I say. Something I just don't get any other time of the day. I have also found they ask more questions about God and how He works after I read. Again, delaying the inevitable? Probably. But wouldn't you do the same for your child to understand a little more about our Father?
