“Sight”
Once upon a time or so the story goes, there was a young man who awoke from a nine month comma. It seems that he had been struck by lightning and lay in a hospital bed almost near death for that time. Awaking, he found strange sensations all over his body.
“Yes.” The doctor said. “Your body had undergone some alterations at the cellular level which has altered your physiology.”
“What alterations or changes?” The young man asked fearing the worst. “Well, all your senses seem to be keener. Your reflexes and motor skills are extremely sharp. And, your strength is beyond belief. In other words, you are a super man.” The doctor finished.
With that the young man’s imagination began to spark at all the possibilities before him. With super speed, he could run from this place to another never needing a car, bus, train or plane again. With super strength, he could tackle any job demanding overwhelming might. With super hearing and sight, he could sell himself to the highest bidder to hear things others could only imagine and see things no one could believe.
“What jobs I could apply for?” He wondered. I could be a pitcher in the major leagues throwing a ball accurately at 125 to 135 miles per hour. Become a football star running balls back on the kickoff at super speeds. Become a salvage diver pulling sunken ships off the bottom of the sea.
"Or maybe, I could become a secret agent like James Bond or Flint.” He dreamed. I could rescue women in duress, jump from high building, fight off the villain, and save the day with super strength. “Why, I could even become my own super hero; with my own costume, cape and mask.” He thought. Running down dangerous dudes, finding lost children, saving the lost, this could his dream job. And all the money he could make in the process was beyond all imagination.
But in that same instance that he dreamed of success and fortune, he remembered that he was made a little lower than the angles and in the image of God.
COMMON SENSE SAYS: No matter how rich, how famous, or how popular we become, we are still products of the God who loved us first and thus, are His to command.
