I am just a little girl
With freckles on my nose
Iíd walk a mile, in pouring rain
To pick my mom a rose
Although Iím in the second grade
My soul is very wise
You will find no prejudice
Or judgment in my eyes
Iíll grow up to be an artist
And a dancer, and a vet
I have more than fifty friends
Though I havenít met them yet
Iím uncomfortable in public
Sometimes I growl and glare
I pretend that Iím an animal
Being shy is hard to bear
But please be gentle with me
My heart is small, you know
And Jesus loves me very much
My Bible tells me so
And though my smile is missing teeth
My spiritís filled with glee
For all who enter heaven
Must become a child, like me!
