Poetry
On the banks of the river, we did wait;
for the refreshing of the soul
O' Lord it longs, for consolation
as it remembers the days of old
In quietness of, the heart does beckon
like a bird with a broken wing
Soaring in flight with a prayer of hope
that deliverance you will bring
O' soul look up and don't be despair
your God is on his way
Wake out of sleep his promise he'll keep
so lay hold for your day
The cry of the meek, will be heard
their answer will come through
Your days were counted one by one
and now your time is due
He will console the weary heart
the spirit he will revive
And your strength will be renewed
for your God is much alive
O' lift up your hands O' soul of mine
the rivers will flow once more
For where God is, there's peace and comfort
so open up your hearts door
His power is known in the driest places
in the shallow waters he is there
And in the silent nights his presence is felt
O' his words are beyond compare
The heavy clouds above, will move away
and the sun it now will shine
By the banks of river there is much healing
by the Lord who's faithful and kind
