To You I lift up my soul,
O my God in You I trust;
And in You I will console,
Because You are fair and just.

Let me not be put to shame,
Nor foes triumph over me;
For in You I do proclaim,
With lowly humility.

Those who wait will see no shame,
Only transgressed without cause;
No confession to proclaim,
To rid their body of flaws.

Make me to know of Your way,
As You teach me of Your path;
Temptations causing to stray,
Help me to avoid Your wrath.

Teach to lead me in Your truth,
As God of my salvation;
Remembering from my youth,
To be a new creation.

For I wait throughout the day,
Your tender mercy and grace;
For Your steadfast love I pray,
Awaiting to see Your face.

Erase the sins of my youth,
For the sake of Your goodness;
No longer am I uncouth,
I do not practice rudeness.

My Lord is good and upright,
Teaching sinners in Your way;
To find favor in Your sight,
Able to properly pray.

You guide the meek to do right,
Teaching the humble Your way;
Your steadfast love gives us might,
For resisting not to stray.

Faithfulness and steadfast love,
For those who cannot deny;
Mercy and truth from above,
Are willing to testify.
