HELP ME LORD TO KEEP MY EYES ON THE CROSS
WHEREVER I MAY GO

While sitting on the front row of the church, one Sunday Afternoon,
I realized that I would be out in the world all too soon.
As I fixed my eyes upon the cross, I sang this little tune:
“Help me Lord to keep my eyes on the cross wherever I may go.”

I can’t remember what I prayed, only that the Lord was there,
Some burden, prayer request, or trial, that I’m sure I needed to share.
As I fixed my eyes upon the cross, I sang this little prayer:
“Help me Lord to keep my eyes on the cross wherever I may go.”

How many commitments have you made, from the churches front row pew?
Things you promised you’d give up, or you told God you’d do.
Will let me share this prayer with you, for it might help you through.
“Help me Lord to keep my eyes on the cross wherever I may go.”

There’s a special time at the front of the church. It’s called an “Altar Call.”
Where many a heart that is broken, might give to Him their all.
But when they turn around, Satan and the World is waiting for them to fall.
“So help them Lord to keep their eyes on the cross wherever they may go.”
