At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. John 8:2 NIV
Many people did want to hear what Jesus had to say, as many were gathered at dawn in the temple area, wanting to hear His powerful words. Oh, how many hearts were truly burning with desire? Here was a man who spoke with conviction and authority. Yes, I am sure there were also there dissecting what He said looking for some false statements that they then could pass on to the higher authorities. Jesus intended to teach for a while, as He seated Himself.
How often do we sit down to have a heart to heart conversation with the Lord? If we do so, do we spend more time listening than talking? It would behoove us to spend more of our time listening than talking. Give the Lord your time and your heart!
