THE ARMAGEDDON NIGHT
Came the soul to heaven's gate
Bade by angels, "Sit and wait,"
To contemplate the life just lived.
And so he thought on sixty years
The hopes, the sweat
The dreams, the tears
And mused on what it could have been.
Came the hellish chorus screaming
At the end of all this pondering
Deep in thought and truly wondering,
"Did I live for myself and nothing more?"
After weeping, lamenting and resigning himself to hell
He heard the sound as a hammer fell
And a nail-scarred hand wiped the tears from his eyes.
It was only a dream, a wake-up call
"I've seen your shame, I've seen it all
This isn't the way I designed it to be
Repent my friend, you were meant to be free."

Reminds me of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". We dream about how we've fallen, but in the end of the poem, we are saved by Christ. Good imagery and narrative.
