TITLE: "Do You Have Peace With Jesus?”
SCRIPTURE: John 16:33, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (KJV)
When we put our faith, hope, and trust in Jesus Christ, the tribulation we experience in this world does not and should not have power over our lives. We can give place to the devil in our lives and trouble will follow. This happens when we are not cautious and watchful about the things we allow to entertain our heart, mind, and spirit. We are essentially giving the devil ownership in something that he should not own…our lives. Just like Adam and Eve gave place to the devil in the Garden of Eden. The trouble started when Eve had a conversation with the serpent, in regards to eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The serpent presented a couple of options to Eve as to why she should eat the fruit. As a result, Eve and Adam acted upon their desires by eating the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3:1-6). She allowed the serpent to place doubt in her heart about God. Therefore, the devil stole something from them that belonged to God. As a consequence, Adam and Eve’s fellowship with God was broken as well as their peaceful life in the Garden. They experienced a spiritual death. This is one of the reasons why the Lord tells us in Proverbs 4:23 to, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” But, all praises to Jesus Christ for defeating Satan at the cross. Jesus confiscated all that Satan had stolen from humanity in the Garden.
However, in John 16:33, Jesus says, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (KJV) In this verse, Jesus said, "Ye shall have tribulation." Therefore, we cannot escape the troubles that come from living in this world. Reason: we live in a fallen, sinful, and evil world. Nonetheless, Jesus says, "be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." Therefore, we can rest assured and find our peace and happiness through Jesus Christ. When things around you seem chaotic; PRAY! And remember, Jesus is NOT in a chaotic state, because “the winds and the waves", which are in the form of trials and tribulations in our lives, must obey Him. Why: the Lord is God over all and He is always in control. Peace and Blessings!

SALVATION PRAYER:“My friend…Are you willing to surrender your life to Jesus Christ today? The choice is yours. If you are reading this devotional and you do not have a “personal relationship” with the Lord and you would like to know how to receive this free and precious gift. God wants every human that passes through this life to know there is hope through Jesus Christ. Therefore, Romans 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. As a result, any person who wants to be reconciled with God; can kneel or stand right where they are and repeat this prayer: “Lord, I know that I am a sinner and I have not been living the life You want me to live. I can never live this type of life without Your help and strength. I am asking You Lord, to please forgive me for my sins. Lord Jesus, I believe that You paid the penalty for my sins on the cross and You have risen again. I am opening the door of my heart for You Lord Jesus to live and take control of my life. I surrender my mind, body, soul and spirit to You as my Lord and Savior. Lord, thank You for hearing my prayer and giving me the gift of eternal life. Amen!” After repeating this prayer, you are now part of the family of God. Jesus has made a special invitation and a promise to everyone that opens the door of his or her heart to Him. He states in Revelations 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” I pray that you will dine with Jesus today!
