I AM WHO I AM
“He must increase, but I must decrease.”
John 3:30 NKJV
We can in our best attire pose next to the fastest man (sprinter) on the earth for a photograph, however all the pleasure we can have is to be a person posing next to the fastest man, we cannot have the pleasure of being the fastest man (unless one fine day after rigorous training and practice we find ourselves crossing the finishing line beating all the others competing with us.)
God is God and thus when Moses approached Him asking His name to stand before pharaoh, God said ‘I AM WHO I AM’, which simply means that God is incomparable and there’s no one like Him.
The fact that He is incomparable towards being the best and worthy of all praise and honor should not send out a desire to be jealous with Him and thus in this process sinfully try to steal God’s honor to our own disaster, for ‘all praise, glory and honor always belongs to Him, for He is rightfully worthy of it.’
We are the best when we truthfully acknowledge the greatness of the Lord and ascribe all praises, glory and honor to Him.
John the Baptist became a famous personality by his message of reproof and the need for baptism. Masses were attracted to him and many became his disciples, yet when an opportunity to be compared with Christ came, he chose to his greatness to ascribe all glory and honor to God alone. ‘He must increase, but I must decrease.’
Till the moment our self stands up high in boasting and self-praise over the praise that it should give to God, we are in want to be changed and improve towards the betterment of life.
David says in one of his best Psalms to God ..
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1 NKJV
When we learn to give all glory, honor and praises to Him, then shall we be truly satisfied, then shall we be content in all circumstance, then shall our hearts overflow with the joy and peace that surpasses all understanding.
Let’s praise Him at all times, for that’s the best we can do to be the best as God has created us.
God Bless,
Abraham
