Safe In You
Father, thank you for covering me. Just like a mother eagle you spread
out your awesome wings and draw me close to your side where I am safe,
warm, and protected. In that position of rest, I can hear and feel the beating
of your heart, and I am comforted, for I know it beats just for me. I sigh and
relax. I stop shaking and crying, and I snuggle up closer to your side.
There! Now I can go to sleep for you are my refuge and my hiding place.
Father, when I awake, I sense a new strength, and it is giving me courage
to venture out once more, into the world. As I go, I can’t keep your goodness
to myself. I speak of it everywhere, and to everyone I meet. My trust is in
you, my hope is in you. I will proclaim you forever, Almighty One!
Father, you will continue to deliver me from every trap. Yes, the enemy,
like one who makes a living by setting traps for little, defenseless birds, has
set a trap for me. But unlike the little birds, I am not defenseless, for you
come and set me free. And like a mighty eagle, you teach me how to soar
high above all circumstances below.
Father, the enemy shoots his arrows of discouragement, fear, worry, anger,
unforgiveness, revenge, betrayal, and yes, even death…and they sting. But
there is no death blow for your truth is my double wall of protection. I refuse
night terrors that come and attempt to smother me, for my trust is in you!
Father, many of his victims are falling around me, but I am still standing
for you are the one who holds me up. I look and I see the reward of those
who are foolish enough to try and take me down. I have made you, O Most
High, my place of habitation. No evil can take me down, and no plague
can come near me for your are my dwelling.
Father, I am confident that you have placed me under the watchful care
of your angels. They lift me up and above the rocks and boulders of life.
With every step I take, I am trampling on snakes, lions and dragons that
try to attack my body, soul and spirit.
Father, I have set my love upon you, and you alone. I am secure in the
fact that you are my deliverer in any circumstance. You honor me because
I love you and I know your name. I have not departed from you, my kind,
comforting heavenly Father. I know you will answer me when I call. I shall
live a long, healthy, abundant life because of your delivering power to me.

Psalm 91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. As I read your most humble prayer, I am immediately reminded of a time when I had to rely totally upon the Lord and His deliverance. Over and over, the Lord had me running back to Psalm 91:1-2. And just as sure as He ministered that Word into my spirit, I found myself dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, abiding under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say it, even shout it to all the world, now and forever, "HE IS MY REFUGE AND MY FORTRESS! MY GOD, IN HIM WILL I TRUST!" You minister so much to me! Thank you for sharing your love of God and your powerful testimonies and most creative and blessed gifts with us!
