If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we
are of all
people to be pitied the most.
1 Corinthians 15:19
You see as Christians we understand this.
We've thought it through and we know that
from a purely rational and logical standpoint
if this faith of ours turned out to be false,
then had life in Christ not been so fulfilling,
we would have completely wasted our lives,
we would've given up pleasures we have no
hope of ever being afforded again, if no
eternity then time we have no chance of
buying back, we would've lost face without
benefit and given up a chance at leaving a
personal legacy for someOne who doesn't
even exist outside this plane. If we were
wrong, we would've in a way completely
ruined our lives had it not been so fulfilling.
If we're wrong we've already lost everything.
Yet if we're wrong then it doesn't even
matter.
Cause if we're wrong, then life is but a
vapour. And what will it matter 10000 years
from now if a group of people had a
completely false faith all those years ago, at
least they lived with a hope that kept them
going.
But if you're wrong in your non-belief then
your entire world is shaken. If it so happens
that you're wrong then you've wasted your
entire life. Each day you're ruining a new
chance to answer the call and be saved from
eternal damnation.
Now on that topic of hell;
"If God is really loving and forgiving, then He
wouldn't send His loved ones to hell."
Let's look at Mandela for a second, our own
national symbol of love, peace and
forgiveness.
What sense would it have made if when he
became president he pardoned every
criminal for every crime they ever
committed, opened the prison doors and
never let a single criminal be prosecuted on
the basis of him being forgiving.
As much as God is gracious and God is love,
He's also just. And you know enough of His
law to know you're breaking it and as much as
you're in a period of grace where you can
repent of your sin and receive salvation,
there is coming a time where this grace
period will end and justice will come. And
that judgment will find you being punished
for every last one of the sins you refused to
repent of.
This is the danger of not choosing salvation,
the fact that without grace you'll receive
justice. A well deserved justice since you
know everything you need to know.
But its not a matter of being motivated by
this fear of impending doom, I've known of
hell all my life and that knowledge never
once motivated me to go to church. The
greater motivation is the hope we find in this
God we believe in, the peace, the love.
There's a security we have in this that you can
never find in the stars you look to on a lonely
night. Its this security, this hope, this purpose
that you'll never find in the universe or in
yourself. A relationship with deity.
And there's a realisation you have to come to,
that your faith in science is hardly any
different from a Christians faith in God.
An evolutionist has never seen a line of
animals evolve. The best they can give you is
the fossil of one animal and the fossil of
another and spin you a story that the second
came from the first over millions of years.
And yet neither you nor they saw it, they just
claim the fossils are evidence enough. To
believe in something you've never seen like
that is called faith.
Now faith is the evidence of things unseen,
the substance of things hoped for
Hebrews 11:1
We have a similar faith, except ours tells us
what's going to happen next and it happens,
so we have more reason to trust it.
And if you think its not similar consider
please, how a scientist first told you about the
big bang and all the evidence he had for it
was the science book he was holding. Then I'll
tell you about my Sunday school teacher who
told me about creation and opened her bible
to Genesis.
Tell me about how you've read about cosmic
and chemical evolution and immediately
believed even though not even the people
who wrote about it saw it happen, and I'll tell
you about how I read in the bible, "God said
let there be lights in the firmament...and let
them be for signs, and for seasons and for
years." And how I also believed in a similar
manner as you. Yet we look to the same sky
for evidence, and neither of us were there to
see it all happen.
Tell me about organic evolution you saw in a
science book written by a scientist who didn't
see it and I'll tell you about the 3rd to 6th day
when God created vegetation, animals and
lastly humans. Neither you nor I saw any of
this happen.
Actually by the very laws of science all but
one of the theories of evolution are
impossible because scientists themselves
have proven spontaneous generation wrong.
Challenge me on it, I dare you.
And if you claim the Universe has always
been there then you open yourself up to God
having always been there and the argument
continues.
And when you realise how wrong you might
be, how in dismissing my faith in God you
dismiss your own faith in science. After that I
challenge you to look into my faith. Cause
maybe, just maybe I'm right. And its the most
dangerous thing to be wrong on this subject
cause you lose everything.
And I don't mean just do a quick google
search, I mean actively search out all there is
to find out about this faith. Take out a month
even, maybe even 6 where you gather with
Christians regularly in that time, read the
scriptures on your own. Watch online
sermons and even some creation scientists.
Call on His name, even dare Him to move,
dare Him to show Himself to you, with a vow
that if He does..... And if after you've
exhausted every resource and He hasn't
moved and you aren't stirred up even just a
little. Then you can confidently move on with
your life knowing you've got nothing to worry
about. Knowing you actually gave Him a
chance. See He's not gonna force Himself on
you.
You of a different religion, I've no doubt that
we can't all be right. And I don't know
everything about every religion but from
what I do know Christianity is the most
unique religion in the world. Written through
over 40 different authors and yet its still
harmonious. With paradoxies and a storyline
that no man could've thought up. The only
one that has such a loving creator as to
humble Himself to death to save us.
And to the one who's planning to only commit
at 40 after they've had a full life,
Who promised you tomorrow? I know God
didn't, and you have no charge over your life.
And I know a lot of evil has been done in the
name of religion, even in the name of Christ.
But let's take this home for a second. Until
just over 20 years ago apartheid was the rule
of the day and the way white people
oppressed other races was unspeakable. Yet
we're smart enough to realise that being born
white doesn't make one evil. Those people of
that day just had perverted ideas. You don't
blame white people for the events, you
blame those particular people for it. You
separate the individuals from the group.
If you'd look into the scriptures you'd find
that under the new covenant Christ promotes
peace and equality and so if a person
promotes violence and supremacy than that
person is going against everything he claims
to believe in and only bears the name of a
Christian but isn't one at all. Separate the
religion from the false prophets. Don't be so
unwise as to dismiss Christ after one
misrepresentation like a scorned women
would dismiss men. Be smarter than that. Its
not the "religion," just the people who claim
it.
Its a serious matter, this is the grace period.
3 things I guarantee you don't have with your
lack of or false faith. Peace, hope and
purpose. These things you find in Christ
alone. All you have is relative security, a
bunch of well thought out plans and you're
crossing your fingers it all works out.
If I'm wrong, then be sure I am. Don't just
suppose I am because of some discrepancy
you think you've picked up, don't be too wise
in your own eyes

If Christianity is correct then its very
important, if its not then it isn't important,
what it can't be is moderately important. - C.S
Lewis
Find out just how important it is. And don't
base it purely on logic either although there
is logic involved. Truth supersedes logic. In a
world where 50% of marriages end in divorce
it doesn't make sense to take the risk. Yet
when you fall in love it doesn't matter how
illogical it is. God isn't limited to logic. He
created it.
