2Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight (KJV). Since the Word of God is true, then we should expect His principles to operate in our lives as He said. If we are to walk by faith, then we are going to have to stop relying on our natural senses, and be led of His Spirit. We cannot properly measure the answers to our prayers by what we see. Neither can we determine what the outcome should be by natural reasoning. What we see and what God sees is more often than not completely different. His thoughts and ways differ from ours because they are infinitely higher than ours are. However, if we will listen, God will reveal them to us, and they can become ours.
It is imperative that we trust Him with everything if we are going to walk by faith. People struggle with doubt when they look on the appearance of things. Let us be honest, how many times have we prayed about our circumstances, and the circumstances got worse? Psalms 34:19 says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all” (KJV). In our deliverance process, things may need to get worse before they get better, but they will get better! The trying of our faith is very precious (see 1Peter 1:5-7). Our relationship with God is very precious, which means that we may need to go through the fire in order to remove the impurities that hinder our communion with Him. Everything we go through does have a shelf life. The trick is not to look for the expiration date.
If we will embrace each moment we are in with the Father, the relationship will grow. Our ability to trust Him will increase because we will discover more and more He really does love us. Instead of looking at your mountain with natural eyes, listen to His Voice. Be still and let the Lord whisper in your ear and you will see more clearly. You will hear words of instruction and comfort. He may tell you what is going on, or He may simply say, “Trust Me!” If you will listen, you will walk by faith (Romans 10:17). Therefore, do not be moved by appearances!
