Where Will Holiness Take Me
It’s time for us to awake out of sleep and get back to the reason we are here. We have been called. God gave a call to man, Jesus came as a man and He called man back to God and the Holy Ghost is here to help us to fulfill that call. Called means we have been summoned by God, available if required, the designated one, whether by appeal or invitation. God through Jesus has made a call for repentance of every soul. We are God’s messengers in the earth, the Church; a collective body of believers called to service to offer salvation to a dying world, but the chosen will come and he will be a refiner of what God has already done through his called messengers. We have been called to prepare the way, may the path straight, Baptize, preach and offer repentance to every dying soul. So why aren’t we doing the work that goes with the call?
II Chronicles 7:14 if my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. We must have a will to do as we progressively grow in our call. Our eyes are open to the truth, our ears are attentive to what we are hearing and our faith is built up. God has chosen us a sanctified house, that his name will be there forever and our eyes and hearts shall be there perpetually.
When God build us up we do not want to forget to encourage every newly repentant heart to continually confess their faults or sin. Although we are called there are those chosen for a specific work, the elect more suitable for a work, handpicked, special, preferred or favored. We all have our specialties of special abilities from God. Why do we run from the call? So many Christians are walking away from God. We have to be foot soldiers on the battlefield for the Lord. Why do we run from what is good for us? Jesus is the lover of our soul. Jesus is the best thing that ever happened to us. He gives rest to the restless. He will never forsake us. He is our salvation, sanctification, and he loves us unconditionally.
We are a work in process and we find that there are roadblocks set up to block us as we walk in the straight and narrow way. There is a way that seen right to man but the way thereof is the way of death. We never want to look back to the way we were, but look forward to our future. A look back can cause us to stand back rather than go forward. When we do look back it is for a testimony of what God has brought us through for his glory. We are a work in process, keep stepping over the roadblocks that has been set in the way we take. God will establish us in righteousness. Holiness will preserve us in the way and take us to our heavenly home one day.
All who are called of God and live godly will suffer persecution. Whom God did predestinate, them he also called; and whom he called, them he also justified, and whom he justified, them he also glorified. We must be sanctified in Christ Jesus and we are called to be saints. God is faithful. Let’s abide in our calling as prisoners of God and walk worthy of the vocation in which we are called. Saints we have a work to do, the world is dying around us; are we through neglect the cause? It’s time we get focused again. We are partakers of the heavenly calling. Jesus was faithful to his heavenly and earthly call. He was a work in progress in the beginning, now is and forever will be.
But the God of all grace who have called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus after that you have suffered a while, will make us perfect, established, strengthened, and settled. He has given to us according as his divine power have given unto us all things that pertains to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that have called us to glory and virtue. We are to give diligence to make our calling and election sure, for if we do these things we shall never fall. I leave with you today that we are sanctified by God and preserved in Jesus Christ and called. We must know that we are holy for we know not the day or the hour that Christ is coming back again.
How do I know I am holy? If we confess the Lord Jesus with our mouth and believe in our heart that God has raised him from the dead then we are saved. We then become holy but our holiness must be maintained. We must believe in our hearts every day, live a righteous life and confess the scriptures. We won’t be made ashamed unless we walk away from our righteousness. Obey the Gospel and keep peace. When we are holy we won’t think highly of ourselves but more on the things of others. We will renew our minds and seek for the truth of God and bury it deep down in our soul that we keep it alive. Don’t give place to wrath and don’t seek revenge when someone wrongs you. You know you are holy and heavenly bound.
If we would continue in holiness we know that we have a house of God not made with hands eternal in the heavens. Holiness will count with God that looks not on the outward appearance of man but on the heart. The things we don’t see are the things eternal. We walk in the flesh but do not war after the flesh for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. We know we are holy when we don’t have to hide from God or think we can, for we can come boldly before the throne of grace. We know we are holy when we are pulled out of our comfort zone by God and say we know that it’s for his glory.
Being holy means we put on and pull off what we need to without grumbling or complaining. Being holy means we put a difference between clean and unclean. It means we are more ready to give than receive. It means we love in deed rather than words. It means we are more ready to cast out sin away from us without being sorrowful in heart.
