“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
America, we have abandoned our first love. We have removed Him as our head without regard for the consequences of our actions. We no longer reverence His word or His name. Instead, every man is left to his own convictions. Now we are left to suffer the consequences which is judgment for our sin. God wants to heal this land! He is calling us to repentance. He desires to bless us but when will we realize that we need to return to Him?
The very things God called abominations we are now freely embracing. Not only are these things being embraced, but they are becoming the norm and His ways are becoming obsolete. It is not ok to express my Christianity, pray or boldly proclaim Jesus is Lord in some arenas but it is ok to impose an immoral lifestyle upon me and I am expected to accept it without any voice. It is ok for others to curse at or around me but it is not ok for me to tell them that there in only one true and living God.
Why are our leaders settling for money, fame and acceptance instead of standing on the God this country was founded on? Political candidates want my vote without my voice. As a leader, you’re on an assignment from God to lead His people “under God” just as David was on assignment as king. But it was not until David humbled himself and the people with him, that God moved on their behalf. But we have voted God out of our schools, places of business, government, homes and pretty soon the church. We have asked the Prince of Peace to leave our midst yet we cry out everyday for peace. Everywhere we turn there is disaster and destruction. Everywhere we turn there is a cry for peace. But Jehovah Shalom, the God of peace, was told to leave our schools, the court houses and every aspect of our country. Peace is His nature. We don’t want Him, we just want one aspect of Him. There can be no piece without the God of peace. And since we have voted Him out of the affairs of the state, we unknowingly unleashed wrath and judgment on our country, our children, ourselves. When He left there was left an empty space which had to be filled and you can guess who was obliged to fill it.
God bless America? When we as a people begin to shun the very appearance of evil and walk in His precepts and call sin for what it is—sin, then God will truly heal and bless us.
God wants our president, senators, representatives, mayors, governors, council men and women, pastors, principals, teachers, CEOs, business leaders, judges, parents, every man, woman and child to stop compromising for worldly fame. Stop compromising for popularity, money, favors and votes.
It is time for the church to wake up and stop being neutral for fear of rejection. We ought to fear the wrath of God and not the scorn or rejection of man. The church wants to be accepted by the world instead of offering hope and salvation to the world; we are ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we keep it to ourselves. We value the acceptance of men more than the wrath of God which will be poured out on our heads. We don’t want to appear as judgmental and we have lowered, even abandoned our Christian standards to meet the world instead of forcing the world to raise its standards to meet God’s. If we are ashamed to confess Jesus before men, He will be ashamed to confess us before His Father. God will hold us accountable for every time we compromise His word and every time we deny Him before men.
There is hope for America. God is calling us to repentance. Return to Him before it is too late. We must humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. His word says He is the Chief Cornerstone and if that stone falls on us it will grind us to powder. Save our country. Don’t wait until it’s too late. Repent and put God back as the Head of our country and our lives. Stop being afraid of what people will think of you. Stop being ashamed of the Gospel of God for it is the “power of God unto salvation”; it is our only hope. Make His ways the only way. For it’s then and only then-when His ways become our desires, will He hear from heaven, forgive our sin and heal America. Will the real leaders –led by God– please stand up for God. Stand for Godliness—stand “under God”.
