Psalm 135:5-7 "I know the greatness of the Lord— that our Lord is greater than any other god. The Lord does whatever pleases him throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. He causes the clouds to rise over the whole earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses."-NLT
When we think of God, what comes to our minds? What about his greatness? let's think of our society & our world today. Whenever we see a music artists rise from bottom to top, we get amazed & say, "wow, they are great." Whenever we see enormous skyscrapers buildings, they stay in our minds & when we see other smaller buildings, we are like, "that nothing compared to the great big skyscraper I saw." skyscrapers like "Burj Khalifa" in Asia, city of Dubai (163 floors 2,717ft tall). When the biggest ship in the world, Triple-E was built that can fit a basketball court next to a full sized American football stadium and a spectator packed ice hockey arena, all below deck. people who see it are like, "thats the greatest & biggest ship I have ever seen."
But what about God? what about the greatness of the God almighty? I once thought as a child that I was the biggest but that sure broke when I saw a bigger kid. However God is greater than you & i. God is greater than that skyscraper in Asia that's 163 stories high. He is greater than the Triple-E ship that's for sure. Better yet, you can put 1000 of those Triple-E ships side by side & lay down 1000 of those skyscrapers in Asia side by side & compare them to God, they just seem like a dust particle in comparison to the greatness of the Almighty. He is greater than the seas, any mountain, this world, the sun, everything & anything. He is Big.
When we think of his power, we think of someone who can't be stopped. Which is true. If God can send lighting from the heavens down to earth, cannot God send down his blessings from the heavens to our lives? Whatever God says, must occur. If he tells the clouds to tip its cups of water to let rain come down, than the clouds obey him. When we think about the wind, we can think of its unseen power. Yet, the direction of the wind is directed by the finger of God.
Many think God is just someone up in heaven. However, he isn't just anyone. He is the creator of everyone. Take a look in scripture. In the old testament & in the new. We see this God create things from things that many were completely shocked. They occurred because God gave the word. The miracle & multiplication happened because God gave the touch. Every great thing that had happened in the scriptures, we see how it happened. It was God. & how do we know this? Because he left his fingerprints. When I received the Lord as my savior in my life, he placed his fingerprint on my heart that marked "child of God." When he did a miracle it was marked, "miracle from God." So you see, God is the greatest of all & there is no one or nothing that can take his place as the greatest. & the greatest thing to know as a Christian is that God is our father. will he not show his greatness in our lives today?
