“Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving.” Psalm 50.14
Thanking God is a meaningful thing to Him. It pleases Him. It keeps us looking to Him, and talking to Him. Thanking God keeps the relationship between Father and child strong and healthy. It keeps me positive too and helps me to remember what He has done for me.
“He who brings thanksgiving as his sacrifice honours me.” Psalm 50.23
It honours God when we give him thanks. It shows Him that we appreciate what He does for us. It keeps the friendship going between us. It would be impolite on earth if one person gave and gave and the receiver of those things did not thank the giver. Unless there was unspoken gratitude. One way or another there should be genuine thanks to a donor as long as the donor is honest and genuine and doing it with right motives.
God is all of those. Everything He gives us is done with love and right motives, for our welfare. God deserves so much thanks. He has done so many things for me. It is uncountable.
He has given me faith, Himself, Jesus and the Holy Spirit’s gifts. He inspires me, keeps me from excessive trials and guides me. He sustains me each day. He keeps his promises to me. He motivates me to read the Bible daily and pray. He provides me with a wonderful family, relatives and close, trustworthy friends who I can have fun with and laugh with. He gives me guidance and shows me things ahead of time. He teaches me.
