Leadership
After reading an article in the News a few days ago it annoyed me so much I just had to “have my say”.
The article concerns a story about the consideration of the Anglican Church to consider gay celibate homosexual men to become Bishops. Needless to say, I was quite mortified.
My viewpoint on this matter is not driven by discrimination, but by simple “common sense” and a willingness (on my part at least), to accept the Bible, the Word of God as “truth”.
For example; the Bible says clearly and unmistakably - Leviticus 18:22 (KJV): "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind it is abomination." Can there really be any error in the comprehension of this statement? I don’t believe so and I further believe any who do are simply engaging in “word play” activities to suit their own purpose.
In addition to the above there are numerous examples that refer to the “sin” of homosexuality. Many texts in the Bible reflect a similar statement although the wording may be slightly different. For example in - 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV) "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."
Given what I have written so far I‘m sure many readers would see my point before I begin to show clearly this article is not based on discrimination, but; “ an issue of appropriateness to the cause of Christian Teaching”.
So, let us begin looking at the facts that are common to our society as a whole. I doubt very much that many people would believe a science teacher was “qualified” appropriately to teach mathematics. In this light then I ask a similar question but one principally the same. “How can any “homosexual” claiming to be a Christian feel themselves “qualified” for the posting of a Christian Teacher”? In this case, a Bishop.
My next question would have to be; “where is the Faith”? The faith in the Teachings of Jesus Ministry and of course, God’s Word. As we see above, homosexuality is clearly defined as “sinful” in the Bible where God’s Word is recorded.
So, where is the faith of the Bishops, Clergy, Christian Teachers and the like? Surely it would seem something is terribly amiss. Therefore, how can a homosexual Bishop for example possibly believe he or she is exercising their faith according to the Word of God when their actions are clearly in opposition to the Word? The Word “Being”, that of God, the One God they claim to know, acknowledge, worship and teach of to the people as God entrusts them to do.
It seems inarguable in this light that any Church as a whole can justify any consideration of placing people in positions of Teaching God’s Word that are opposed to it. The Bible clearly states homosexuality as being a sin against God and His people.
Is it any wonder at all that Jesus asks – “when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Lk 18:8).

I fully understand your stance in this perplexing issue.
What else have Christians to read, apart from the Bible?
At this time of writing, there is a news item that struck me this morning. It came from Northern Ireland, whereby Catholics and Protestants are STILL fighting! Is this the answer?
Why, in Heaven's name would Christians be fighting one another?
As for Homosexual, or Gay people as they like to be called,I have a deep compassion for them! After all, their Heterosexual parents gave birth to them, which is why I feel I have no right to judge them.
There is only one person who may judge me, and that is Almighty God.
