A silly woman I neglect to be.
Foolish—without sense—fails to define me.
I carry myself as a woman wise
To avoid being taken by surprise.
I beware of men who creep in my life,
Pretending they want me to be their wife.
They will lead me on with false pretenses
With intent to weaken my defenses.
They plan to interrupt my steady walk
With meaningless guarantees—smooth talk.
If they are skillful and play their role well,
I might believe the crafted lies they tell.
I watch and pray for strength when Satan tempts.
From being deceived, I am unexempt.
I deny heed to seducing spirits.
A voice but God—I refuse to hear it.
