The Day of the Lord
The day of the Lord, is better prepared for, than imagined. With the description of that day in various books of the Bible. No one would pray to be caught unawares. The Lord Jesus said, “No one knows the time or hour the Son of Man shall appear” Mark 13:32. He advised, we should take heed, watch and pray. Mark 13:33.
The Lord’s description of that day portrays chaos, total upset and dislocation of the solar systems. A day of darkness, doom and extreme confusion. “But in those days, after the tribulation, the Sun will be darkened, and the Moon will fall and the powers in the Heavens will be shaken”. Mark 13:24-25, Matthew 24:29, Luke 21:25-26.
The gospel of Luke describes it better. He says men shall be overtaken by fear and apprehension, because of the level of cosmic disturbances.
Prophet Isaiah has this to say: “For the Stars of Heaven and their constellations will not give their light; the Sun will be darkened in its going forth. And the Moon will not cause its light to shine”. Isaiah 13:10.
“All the host of Heaven shall be dissolved. And the Heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll. All their host shall fall down. As the leaf falls from the vine. And as fruit falling from a fig tree”. Isaiah 34:4
Prophet Joel confirms the day, “And I will show wonders in the Heavens and in the Earth, Blood and Fire and pillars of smoke. The Sun shall be turned into darkness, and the Moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord” Joel 2:30-31. “The Sun and Moon will grow dark. And the Stars will diminish their brightness, the Lord also will roar from Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem. The Heavens and Earth will shake;………….” Joel 3:15-16.
Prophet Zechariah, prophesied same: “It shall come to pass in that day, that there will be no light. The lights will diminish. It shall be one day which is known to the Lord – neither day nor night. But at evening time, it shall happen. That it will be light” Zechariah 14:6.
Apostle John’s revelation gives a clearer prophecy concerning that day. “……………… There was a great earthquake, and the Sun became black as sack cloth of hair, and the Moon became like blood. And the Stars of Heaven fell to the earth as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. Then the Sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.
And the Kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and rocks, fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great day of His wrath has come and who is able to stand”. Revelation 6:12-17
Apostle Peter wrote; “But the day, of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the Heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat, both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up”. 2 Peter 3:10.
The dramatic way the Lord will come, have totally rubbished the claim of those who say they are “Christ”. The coming of the Son of Man will be heralded with extreme seismic and cosmic upsets. It shall be announced and the world will know it. It is a day of judgment and deliverance. Joel 1:15, 3:16. It calls for preparedness. It calls for a change in attitude and conduct of mankind. It calls for a genuine relationship with Christ now. On that day, the confusion and dislocation of heaven and earth will not permit anyone to do so. People will be running helter skelter, scampering for safety.
Apostle Peter summarized it by saying: “Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness. Looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire and the elements melt with fervent heat?”. 2 Peter 3:11-12. “Therefore, beloved looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by HIM in peace, without spot and blameless” 2 Peter 3:14.
To be prepared is the only way out. Therefore be prepared.Read more on this in my ebook catalogue of the last days
