When I meditate on Your word I realize,
Who am I, that I am wise enough
To understand the word of the living God
For I am ignorant and worldly and my wisdom
Is trash before His heavenly throne
I am powerless to learn and there are not human
Teachers who completely know and love your
Ways. For most have their own agenda when
It does come to using your words.
I am fearful to use my mind of flesh to interpret
Your word, for I am lacking in many things and
What I think I am wise in, would never be wisdom
In your eyes, unless I asked you to lead and teach me
For who does know the ways of God, surely His Son
And also His spirit. They can enlighten the ignorance
Of my being and open me to the treasures the Lord
Has prepared in His words to those who would
Simply follow His ways.
Blessed be the Lord God in heaven who allowed me
To taste of His favor, and to eat from His table of
Delights. For my spirit has made me to be the wiser
By a single choice made in a moment, when I turned
All that I am to Him.
